House Meetings
Host a House Meeting in your living room or backyard. Invite folks you know oppose what’s happening to our country (this is not an outreach to Trump voters) but have not been very active in expressing opposition. The idea is to encourage people to become more active and involved in TA>SWVA over refreshments and conversation.
Invitees get to know one another a bit so that everyone feels they are in a safe place. The host invites each guest to express their own concerns and fears, then shares available resistance opportunities and why these are important and testifies how moving from isolation to action has built personal positive feelings of solidarity and hope for themselves.
We are building a host curriculum for these meetings, which we will model and you can help critique at a House Meeting for Hosts in Emory early in October. We have budgeted money to assist any host purchase refreshments.
Small groups personalize people’s experience. We expect these meetings to be fun, heart-warming, solidarity-building occasions for everyone and anticipate they will bring more volunteers to our issue teams, demonstrations, and leadership.
