Building a “Truth Brigade” in the Coalfields

You can help Take Action SWVA refute disinformation Trump’s MAGAs are spreading in coal communities. Trump and his gang want to pad coal and utility company profits but not support the wellbeing of miners and their unions.

Truth needs to be told!

1. Revival of steam coal for power generation is another Trump lie: Coal is simply too costly and utilities have moved to other forms of power generation. Trump’s tariffs and tariff threats have upended export of met coal to China and other markets.

2. The Trump Administration is placing miners’ health & safety at greater risk, shuttering 13 Mine Safety & Health Admin. offices in Appalachia and stopping implementation of the “Silica Rule,” which would protect regional met coal miners from permanent lung disease, disability, and death.

3. Trump fired a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) member which made the boad unable to function. It denied a quorum and crippled the agency’s ability to hold corporations accountable for rigged union elections and unfair labor practices. Elon Musk’s DOGE is working to destroy workers’ unions and right to organize by confiscating sensitive NLRB data and exposing union organizers to firings and retribution. Trump and Musk despise organized labor.
